The Rees river moves through the valley in a deliberate path, carving its way between folded ridgelines and shifting planes of land. The eye is carried along its course — not rushed, but guided — as the terrain opens around it.
There is a sense of how the land is being shaped over time, each contour settling into place. The mountains hold their structure, while the water continues its chattering journey through them, connecting everything it touches.
Painted in layered colour and defined linework, this piece balances movement with structure — the winding river drawing the viewer inward, while the surrounding forms offer rhythm and stability.
