This painting celebrates the night sky and our fascination with the vast expanse beyond our beautiful home here on earth. It stylizes snow-covered mountains glistening in the moonlight and also touches on conservation and efforts to ensure native species escape extinction. It follows a study into kea whose numbers have been in rapid decline which surprised me because I had assumed they were plentiful.
